Recommended Korean Dramas

I don't know if this is a good or bad thing, but the number of drama's I've watched in my life time cannot be counted on my fingers and toes...
Here are a few that I recommend. Note that some bias may apply because there are some actors/actresses that I adore.

My favourite Korean drama of all time: Queen Inhyun's Man

Let me start by saying I love tall guys. I love tall guys in beanies. I love Yoo Inna and Ji Hyunwoo. I love the fact that they're dating in real life and I love them as a couple, on screen and off screen. I think the fact they fell in love while filming is a good enough reason to watch this drama. It's so perfect.

The drama jumps between a Sageuk drama (Olden day times, forgot the actual word) and Modern Day time. It's more of Modern though. I'll admit that I skipped a lot of parts where it was from the past...It's so romantic, witty and amazing. The drama is only 16 episodes so it's not as long as a normal structured 20-24 episode mini series but it's enough to make me giggle with joy. If you like romantic dramas, this is it!

Sorry for the kiss spoiler, but there's much more in the drama for you to be surprised about. Personally, drama kisses make or break the drama for me. They're either really fake (side kiss/not really touching) or actually really real. You'll see what I mean. It's definitely not as popular because it did air on TVN (A newer cable in Korea nothing as big as a KBS, MBC, or SBS) but TVN's been popping out good dramas like crazy lately. This was just one of their firsts.

Anyway, Yoo Inna and Ji Hyunwoo, please remain happy forever. I think if they break up I will seriously cry. Definitely give this drama a watch! It's very good! Promise.

My favourite oldie drama: Goong or Palace or Princess Hours(궁)

This drama definitely has a famous cast now. Do you recognize them? Song Jihyo on the left who stars in Running Man as a part of their fixed cast. One half of Monday Couple! Joo Jihoon on the right of Jihyo who got reported for a drug bust, went to the army and came back with Five Fingers recently. I still love him. My love for him will never die. Yoon Eunhye second from the right. If you don't know her, you obviously haven't watched a lot of dramas. Kim Junghoon on the right, doesn't really exist in the Korean eye any more cause he got busted for something, don't really remember. But I still love this drama.

IT'S REALLY OLD. But it's so good. Joo Jihoon plays a prince in modern days who is forced to marry an average girl who is played by Yoon Eunhye's character. They fall in love even though they hate each other in the beginning, typical drama happenings. However, this drama is totally different and the twists in the story line will keep you hooked.

Though this drama aired in 2006, seven years ago, I still wish that Joo Jihoon and Yoon Eunhye were dating in real life. Not happening though.

Give the drama a watch. The kisses are really real too ;)

The dramas that made it big: Secret Garden and Boys Over Flowers

Legendary drama. There was F4 fever for a couple years. I can still sing the theme song. "Almost Paradise!~" If you don't know the definition of the term "flower boy," you'll know after watching this drama. Best entertainment value if you watch dramas on Viki and turn the comments on because people make pretty funny comments about EVERYTHING. Kim Joon, Kim Bum, Lee Minho, Goo Hyesun, Kim Hyunjoong. Beautiful cast. If you haven't heard of this drama, watch it now.

Legendary drama version two. The body switching, hilarious drama that is Secret Garden. Hyunbin, Ha Jiwon, Kim Sarang, Yoon Sanghyun, Phillip Lee and my favourite actress Yoo Inna! This drama will always be in my top five. The little things in this drama are so cute and lovable. It's definitely recommended.

Honourable mentions:
Rooftop Prince
The Women Who Still Cannot Marry
Nice Guy
Miss You

Currently Watching:
Queen of Ambition
Flower Boy Next Door (Hilarious)

Listen to this!

Soo good.

Kthxbaii,
Please watch!

K-Pop Oldies But Goodies That People Forget

I've been listening to Korean music (Pop, Indie, Rap) for a long time now.
Here are some of my favourites that people tend to forget or haven't even heard of before.

MY FAVOURITE KOREAN SONGS FROM BACK IN THE DAY

1. Gummy ft. TOP - I'm Sorry (미안해요)
Song starts at 0:20 for people who don't like to watch music videos.
A lot of people forget that Gummy even exists, including me. I don't listen to many of her songs, but this is definitely one of my favourites. This song came out before 2NE1 came out so I'm sure some fans were jealous of Sandara Park at the time. Nonetheless, I can't get this song out of my head. Gummy's vocals and TOP's trademark deep raps are too good not to put on this list.

2. Lee Hyori - U-Go-Girl (유고걸) Feat. 낯선
Song starts at 0:40
She was literally the Queen of Kpop and still sort of is. She will always be my favourite tanned Korean beauty. I couldn't decide whether or not to put this song or 10 Minutes, but I guessed that might be a little TOO old school. I love Hyori. This song is forever perfect.

3. Son Dambi (손담비) - Crazy (미쳤어) ft. Eric from 신화
The song that blew Son Dambi's popularity out of the water. Oldie but goodie! The famous chair dance. I will never forget this dance. It started the chair dance trend that idols are doing these days...And of course we have the legendary, "Pledis Sound."

4. Epik High - Love Love Love
Every time I hear this song it makes me so happy. Though Tablo, Mithra Jin and DJ Tukutz have moved on from Woolim to YG and their sound might have changed a little, this will forever be my favourite Epik High song. I sort of feel like this is the only "happy" Epik High song there is out there...It's okay though because this song will always be amazing.

5. Clazziquai - Romeo N' Juliet
Let me just say, if you don't know Clazziquai, man you've been missing out. This is my favourite song by my favourite sorta indie band. This song recently (well not really recently) got famous after Jiyeon and Jinwoon sang it on Dream High 2. The original is forever the bomb though. I found out about this song after watching Alex (of Clazziquai) and Shinae on the first or second season of We Got Married (Which was the best season tbqh). Anyway, I think I am in love with every song and member of Clazziquai because they're perfect. Well sorta... I'm referring to you Alex.

6. Brown Eyed Girls - L.O.V.E
This song needs no words. Just listen to it. Please. Please. Too good.

7. SG Wannabe - Grace (은)
No mv but needed an excuse to put my first favourite Korean song in the mix. This song is beautiful. I would die for an instrumental version and I love the pure amazingness that is the voices of the three. RIP to leader :( Thanks for singing a beautiful song though.  The vocals are truly amazing.

8. Untouchable - Give You Everything (다줄게) ft. 송지은 (Secret)
Why are they not relevant any more? It's sorta upsetting to me that Secret is more relevant than Untouchable these days. Nonetheless, good song and Jieun's vocals are swell. I loved my rap back then...

9. Code V - I'm More Sad (내가 더 슬퍼)
Nobody knows about them because they've moved onto the Japanese market. But this is one of my favourite songs from the most irrelevant group... It's quite a good song. I think it's a waste when good songs go to waste because groups aren't popular enough.

10. TVXQ/DBSK 동방신기 - Tonight
I'm going to be totally biased right now because they're forever my favourite. But this song is pretty amazing. The fact that they always sing this live and it sounds exactly like the studio version? Too good. Just give it a listen until the chorus. And if it doesn't suit your taste, well, that's too bad. Aha, you're missing out. The vocal ability of the five members together are quite remarkable.

If you got this far, thanks!
I might do some more of these posts if I get the chance.
Feel free to share your favourite Korean songs with me in the comments :)
